6 SEO Marketing Tips to Send You to the Top

June 19th, 2009 Vaidas 1 comment

SEO marketing tips can be found everywhere on the web. Unfortunately, many of these are outdated, are understandable only to experts, or are completely useless for your particular situation. These SEO marketing tips are based on current SEO trends and are applicable to every website.

1. Dismiss everything you thought you knew about SEO marketing. Things are changing rapidly, and unless you are in the loop our your information is less than a year old, you are probably behind the times.

2. Get rid of keyword and description metatags. These tags do not hold much sway, if any, with search engines anymore. Additionally, all your competition has to do is “view source” on their web browser and know exactly what keywords you are targeting.

3. Because description tags are not used or ignored, the first paragraph of your web content is crucial. This content is the first thing the search engines index, and it is the part of your site that comes up in the search results. Make sure it is keyword oriented.

4. Keywords and phrases are important for SEO marketing, but don’t overdo it. A keyword density of about 3-5% is enough to get the attention of the search engines, and will keep your content human friendly. If you spam your keywords and phrases all over your site, search engines can and will ban you from their listings entirely.

5. Buy a domain that contains your keywords. If you already have a domain that is not SEO oriented, you can buy a better one and point it to your existing site. The first sites to pop up in a search will be those that have the keyword in the URL.

6. Avoid duplicate content. If you place an article on an article directory, don’t use it on your website. Never copy content from other sites, either. Not only is it plagiarism, but the search engines tend to ignore duplicate content. Read more…

Links are very important to increase your search engine rankings. You should focus on getting as many links as you can through legal and ethical means. One of the ways you can find places to get more links from is by doing an analysis of your competitors’ websites.

Many people are in constant search of finding more places to get a link from. However not many people realize that their competitors can give them clue about where to look for new links.

The strategy I am referring to entails finding out the websites from where your competitors are getting their links. Chances are that you too can get some links from the exact same places.

Let me outline the strategy for you in simple step by step format:

1. Search in Google for a broad or long tail keyword related to your niche.

2. Make a note of the top 10, 20 or 30 websites in the search results. The fact that these website are ranking highly indicates that they must be having lots of back-links. Let us find out where they are getting their links from.

3. Go to *Yahoo site explorer by visiting the URL listed below this article.

Now, one by one, type the urls of the top ranked websites from step 1 and 2.

4. Immediately you will get a huge list of places from where these sites are getting their links. You can visit these sites one by one to find out whether you too can gain a quick link by making a comment or through any other means.

How to Make Money Online With SEO

June 16th, 2009 Vaidas No comments

Let me explain how to make money online using a method I started in September of last year: building a blog, putting an advertisement on it (I get paid a dollar or so every time the ad is clicked), and then getting traffic from a search engine.

searchenginesThis is also known as “SEO” – ranking your website on the search engines.

Does it Work? I know it works because I’ve been doing it less than a year, and I’ve already got my college paid for, and the income keeps increasing – meaning I’ll be graduating college with a fantastic income already. That’s more than most college graduates can say.

But don’t think I’m trying to build up a bunch of hype: this method of making money online will take a lot of hard work, planning and determination. If you’re willing to work hard to make money then this is for you – otherwise, you’ll have to find another way to make money on the Internet.

An SEO Income is a Passive Income
Ranking high on the search engines provides a steady source of traffic. For example, one of the keywords I’m result #2 for brings in about 800 visitors per day. These visitors consistently click on my advertisements, in the end making $40-50 per day. It’s not much, but it’s nothing to cough at.

The cool thing about this is that it’s a passive income – once you rank for a keyword, you don’t have to work every day to get paid. As long as your page is ranking for that search keyword, you’ll make the money. That’s why I’m a fan of SEOing for money. Read more…
