Google Adsense Alternatives

June 15th, 2009 Vaidas No comments

Every now and then many people get banned from Google Adsense for whatever reason. I am still a believer of the view that Google will ban you only if you have yourself done something wrong. Not otherwise. But many people have different views on it. Anyways, this post is not about how not to get banned from Google Adsense but on what are the alternatives if you get banned from Adsense. This is one of the most common question asked through email that what are the alternatives to monetize a blog or a website except Google Adsense.

Here is the list of few Google Adsense alternatives:

  • Kontera – Kontera is not exactly the alternative of Google Adsense, but its something with works best with it. This is my second best choice after Adsense.
  • ValueClickMedia – ValueClickMedia is one of the two best CPM/CPC based network (other being CasaleMedia). It is difficult to get accepted into it. But if you get into it with a quality site, nothing like it.
  • CasaleMedia – The second best CPM/CPC based quality network which can make you good money. Not that difficult to get accepted and have many quality campaigns for good CPM and CPC.
  • ClickBank – If you are new to affiliate marketing and want to try selling digital products, this is the best network available for you. You get auto accepted. They have digital products for most of the niches on the net. So whatever the niche of your website, you will find a product to sell on it. Read more…

Rock-Solid Ways to Make Money With Blogs

June 9th, 2009 Vaidas No comments

1. Standard Banner Ads

Banner ads are my favorite way to make money via blogs and can provide a large steady stream of income for you. Once you start getting 1-2k + visitors a day you find it easier to attract sponsors. As your blog grows in traffic you can start increasing your advertising rates. I recommend not locking up sponsors for more then 3 months when you start, because of you grow fast you won’t be able to raise prices on sponsors who are already locked in.

It is important to use standard size banners on your site or you will make advertising on your site a hassle for sponsors, which can be enough to see sponsors pass by. You also need to make it clear you are accepting sponsors, what your traffic is and what your rates are per month.

When it comes to actually getting sponsors, many blog owners just sit around for months hoping sponsors find their site to advertise on. Many will, but you can make a lot more money if you are aggressive about filling your banner spots and contacting potential sponsors directly!

2. Text Links

Selling text links that are “follow links”, meaning they help sites rank better in the search engines is against Google terms of service, but many blog owners still resort to this as a way to make money online. I personally do not like to sell text links, but many blog owners do so quietly. You could add “nofollow” tags to the links, which tells search engines not to count the link, but you need to make this clear to sponsors, because many are seeking the potential ranking benefit and do not just want traffic. If you are going to make your links “nofollow” you should place the links in a high visibility zone so that sponsors actually get a decent amount of traffic.

3. Product Reviews

Product reviews have been gaining in popularity, due to the fact that its an easy way to tap into a large reader base of a blog. Not only can sponsors get “follow” links to their site which relates to #2 in our list, but the post will be seen by a majority of the active blog readers, which makes it superb for brand awareness. Other Advertising Networks Besides Google AdSense

May 25th, 2009 Admin 2 comments

When bloggers think of online advertising, the words Google AdSense immediately pops to mind. Google had done an amazing job capturing the internet advertising market with the AdSense product. However, Google is not the only game in town. As a webmaster, it is your duty to seek out other ways to monetize your site. As we all know, putting all your eggs in one basket isn’t the smartest thing to do. Yet I have come across countless blogs with no other means of monetization other than AdSense. Even my own blog was running just Google until a few days ago.
I was discussing this problem with Bradford Liedel of ModemHelp.net and he came up with an interesting idea – why not make a list of all the online advertising opportunities that are available for blog and site owners? This list will be part of a new webmaster resource site that will feature discussions and ratings on the listed advertising companies. The site will be launching soon. In the mean time, I have decided to give you a preview of the master list. The list is pretty big at 130 companies. I wonder how many will still be around in a year or two?

*Disclosure notice – Many of the advertising vendors listed offers affiliate programs, where the affiliate will get a cut of the income earned by the site referred. I have decided NOT to place any affiliates links on this list. Why? Because I am just too lazy to sign up for the affiliate programs. I’ll probably be kicking myself later for not doing this.
