7 Tips To Using a Domain Name Suggestions Tool

May 14th, 2010 Admin No comments

So you are in the market for purchasing domain names so you can make your first million (or two) on the internet.

Before you rush out and register that brand new domain I am going to suggest that you consider an aged domain instead.

What is an aged domain??

An aged/expired domain is a domain that has been previously registered by another person, and that person or company has, for whatever reason decided not to renew it.

Sometimes the reason is simply that they forget.

There was a famous story a few years ago when a very valuable domain passport.com owned by Microsoft was not renewed when it came time to renew the registration, meaning it became available for anyone to re-register.

An individual did just that with this domain, but luckily for Microsoft this guy did the right thing and gave the domain back to them (I think Microsoft paid him back the registration fee).

Other reasons for not renewing a domain might be that the company that owned the domain went bankrupt, or they maybe transferred the business that used to operate on that domain to another domain.  In fact there are a heap of reasons why domain names do get forgotten about.

So what are the advantages for you re-registering an aged domain?

1.    Links – Most domains, particularly those domains that have been actively used in the past and not just had no promotion have other sites pointing to them over time, and these backlinks form a vital part in determining how well the domain willrank in the search engines for particular keyword phrases.

2.    Page Rank – As a consequence of these links, many of these expired domains will have existing page rank.

3.    Age – As a general rule the search engines give more authority to domains that have been registered for a a longer period than other domains.

4.    Web site Visitors – Many domains will have existing traffic, with visitors rolling up to that domain on a regular basis, usually as a result of previous promotions done by the previous site owner.

5.    No Sandbox - New domains are once in a while placed in a “sandbox” where they will not get as much traffic as more established domains until they have proven themselves to the search engines.

These are probably the most attractive items to consider when re-registering an existing domain versus registering a brand new domain.

6 SEO Marketing Tips to Send You to the Top

June 19th, 2009 Vaidas 1 comment

SEO marketing tips can be found everywhere on the web. Unfortunately, many of these are outdated, are understandable only to experts, or are completely useless for your particular situation. These SEO marketing tips are based on current SEO trends and are applicable to every website.

1. Dismiss everything you thought you knew about SEO marketing. Things are changing rapidly, and unless you are in the loop our your information is less than a year old, you are probably behind the times.

2. Get rid of keyword and description metatags. These tags do not hold much sway, if any, with search engines anymore. Additionally, all your competition has to do is “view source” on their web browser and know exactly what keywords you are targeting.

3. Because description tags are not used or ignored, the first paragraph of your web content is crucial. This content is the first thing the search engines index, and it is the part of your site that comes up in the search results. Make sure it is keyword oriented.

4. Keywords and phrases are important for SEO marketing, but don’t overdo it. A keyword density of about 3-5% is enough to get the attention of the search engines, and will keep your content human friendly. If you spam your keywords and phrases all over your site, search engines can and will ban you from their listings entirely.

5. Buy a domain that contains your keywords. If you already have a domain that is not SEO oriented, you can buy a better one and point it to your existing site. The first sites to pop up in a search will be those that have the keyword in the URL.

6. Avoid duplicate content. If you place an article on an article directory, don’t use it on your website. Never copy content from other sites, either. Not only is it plagiarism, but the search engines tend to ignore duplicate content. Read more…

Google Adwords Arrow Trick To Increase Click Through Rates

June 10th, 2009 Vaidas 2 comments

So lets cover the first question – How is this done?

In my example I use Google Adwords. Google has a function {keyword:sub} that will automatically substitute the keyword where the {keyword:sub} goes and if it is to many chars then the “sub” is used.

For instance lets say you bid on keywords “Michael Jackson” and “Jay-Z” to send to ringtone offers. Then in Adwords you write your ad like this:

Title: {keyword:New} Ringtones
Headline1: Get The Latest Ringtones By {keyword:Artists}
Headline2: {keyword:New} Ringtones Instantly Sent To Your Phone!

In the case of the keyword Jay-z that would make

Jay-Z Ringtones
Get The Latest Ringtones By Jay-Z
Jay-Z Ringtones Instantly Sent To Your Phone! Read more…

How To Become A Successful Make Money Online Blogger

June 10th, 2009 Vaidas No comments

Many people credit me as the first make money online blogger. There were lots of IM before me but for whatever reason I seem to get a lot of credit. Whatever…. Either way the most common question I get is if you had to start over tomorrow what would you do. Well I can tell you how I got here and I notice its becoming a trend with others:

  • You fell into your niche after trying and failing and one day started raking in the cash. (for me it was ringtones)
  • You notice all these “Gurus” online talking about how to make money online but they seem out of date.
  • You start your own blog under a anonymous name and start to call out these gurus. You call the products they sell scams and what not.
  • You start to write guides on what is working for you and start to get a following.
  • You come out of your shell and start speaking at conferences. (for me this was about 4 years ago.)
  • Your original niche where you made all your money starts to die off so you start to leverage your blog following into building a REAL product.
  • You start to write your own ebooks and guides (which I used to make fun of people for doing).
  • You are now a guru and people attack you and call you a scam without knowing you at all. They also attack your audience saying anyone who listens to you is *sheep*
  • You talk about how your blog was never supposed to be your thing and it all just kind of happened because you like what you do Read more…
